Menkes Wins BOMA International TOBY Award

The Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY) Awards are the most prestigious and comprehensive programs of their kind in the commercial real estate industry, recognizing quality in buildings and rewarding excellence in building management. The Kennedy Matheson Industrial Complex was recognized last year as the Best Canadian Industrial Office Building by BOMA Canada, thus qualifying it for consideration at the international award level in 2017. The TOBY Awards were presented at the BOMA International Conference in Nashville, TN, on June 27, 2017.

As the proud recipient of the international TOBY Award in the Industrial Category for the Kennedy Matheson Industrial Complex, Menkes Property Management Services is being recognized for the highest quality in building standards, community impact, tenant relations, energy conservation, environmental, regulatory and sustainability standards, and training of building personnel.  During the awards competition, all facets of a building’s operations are thoroughly evaluated. Entries are judged on everything from community involvement to environmental and sustainability management.

The Menkes property management team at the Kennedy Matheson Industrial Complex hosts health and safety, tenant appreciation, and environmental events throughout the year as an effective way to communicate and stay connected with tenants. Menkes provides bike racks for tenants who cycle to work to support green commuting alternatives, as well as tenant health and well-being. The on-site property management team also employs a number of building and sustainability programs related to integrated pest control, waste management, building exterior & hardscape management, and a green purchasing policy to reduce the impact on the environment.
