Menkes Supports the 2018 Reel Asian Film Festival

Menkes was proud to recently team up with the Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival as the official sponsor for the Audience Choice Award.
The Japanese indie film One Cut of the Dead debuted in Toronto at the successful 9-day festival, from filmmaker Shinichiro Ueda. The film earned the coveted Menkes award, and was awarded a $5,000 cash prize.
“Menkes is proud to sponsor the Audience Choice Award for the fifth year in a row,” said Mimi Ng, Senior VP, Sales & Marketing. “Toronto is such a multicultural city and we are pleased to continue our involvement with such a diverse festival and what we think is a worthy cause. We’re so happy we can share in the best Asian cinema has to offer.”
The winning flick is centered around a young film crew making a very mediocre zombie film when they suddenly learn that the warehouse they are filming in is no ordinary warehouse. In this hilarious satire, real zombies arrive and terrorize the crew.
Reel Asian is Canada’s largest pan-Asian film festival, and a registered non-profit that enables young aspiring filmmakers to share their stories.
