A Year in Review
December 17, 2019
We had a very busy and successful 2019, which started with some exciting news. To kick off the year, we announced a major investment in the heart of the financial district- the revitalization of 320 Bay Street, which later became known as The Permanent.
On the sales side, we started the year on top. We learned that Sugar Wharf was named the top selling condo project for 2018. More on that here.
The end of last winter marked a big milestone for the Company, with our office portfolio becoming 100% LEED certified. We are committed to developing sustainable workplaces so we were particularly proud of this achievement.
In March we successfully launched (and sold out) two high rise towers for our residential project Mobilio in Vaughan Metropolitan Centre (VMC), featuring a mix of condos and towns in the heart of VMC. Visit the Mobilio page on our website for more information.
In Spring, when awards season kicked into full gear, we were the proud recipient of several prestigious industry awards including BOMA’s Earth, TOBY and Pinnacle Awards. View the full details in our press release.
By the time summer approached, when it came to awards we were moving to the international level, as we were honoured with BOMA’s most prestigious award. AeroCentre won The Outstanding Building of the Year.
The start of summer was huge for Toronto, with the Raptors winning the NBA Championship Finals, and we were right in the middle of all the action, capturing every exciting minute, with stellar views from our 25 York Street property which is adjacent to Jurassic Park.
Over the summer, in support of our major investment in Vaughan we sponsored Vaughan’s Pizzafest, which not only provided outstanding entertainment but drew a big crowd to the ever-growing area of VMC.
As the seasons changed and we moved into Fall, Menkes once again teamed up with The Princess Margaret Cancer Lottery where one lucky winner was awarded a luxurious downtown condo with a 400-square-foot terrace at 87 Peter Street.
In October we launched Glen Ashton Estates, a prestigious community in Joshua Creek in Oakville. Check out the luxurious homes here.
The Fall also marked two major leasing announcements for our commercial division, B+H Architects will be making The Permanent (320 Bay Street) their new home, and The Second City signed a lease for space at One York Street. Visit our press page for more information.
The end of Fall marked the launch of our Villa Collection, three-storey towns at Mobilio in VMC. Visit the Mobilio page on our website for more information. Learn more here.
And finally, the end of Fall was a big celebration (if you’ve heard the ads, you know) with the launch of Festival in South VMC, set to become the entertainment capital of Vaughan. Learn more here.
With winter approaching we’re looking forward to winding down for the holidays, but stay tuned because we have lots planned for 2020!
